Interview with Mr. Dimitrij Piciga, Ex-Director General, Slovenian Tourist Board, from Vinay,  www.BookMyHotel.biz
BMH:  What is the best time for Indian travellers to visit Slovenia?
DG

Slovenia’s natural diversity and varied range of tourist products and services mean that it is perfect for a visit at any time of the year. In terms of temperature, the best time to visit Slovenia is in the warmer half of the year before the summer season, i.e. May and June. Otherwise, the most suitable time depends on the tourist product concerned For planning activity holidays in the Slovenian mountains, or for water-based sports, the summer months between June and August are the most ideal. For skiing, it’s the winter months, of course – from December to February.

BMH: What similarities do you find between people of India and Slovenia?
DG The people of Slovenia and India are distinguished by their great hospitality, which is extremely important in tourism. In addition, I have noticed that Indians like good food as much as the Slovenes!
BMH Why Slovenia would prove as a best destination for MICE?
DG Everything you need to organise even major international events is waiting for you in Slovenia, and at the same time a wealth of opportunities for activities in the vicinity of the event venue. In the heart of Europe you will find professionalism combined with a relaxed attitude, security and good organisation, and the hospitality of people who speak multiple foreign languages.
Ljubljana offers various venues and congress facilities for events featuring more than 2,000 participants. The international airport, just 20 minutes away from the capital, has good connections with other congress destinations such as Bled, Portorož and Maribor. Authentic experiences reflecting local culture and cultural and gastronomic diversity can be organised in special venues: old town centres, castles, museums, galleries, mines or unspoilt natural surroundings.
