San Francisco airport moves to offer free WiFi
SAN FRANCISCO—Travelers waiting to fly may soon be able to surf for
free at San Francisco International Airport.
Officials are expected to approve a deal
soon so as to provide travelers
a free wireless Internet connection at the airport.
The move, which would still need to be endorsed by the San Francisco
City Purchaser, would bring San Francisco in line with its Bay Area
competitors. The San Jose and Oakland airports already offer free
wireless.
Officials are still trying to figure out how to offset the costs of
providing the free service. Some ideas include WiFi related advertising
or sponsorship.
